Evangelism & Church Planting
The mission of the church is to bear witness to God’s love and grace in a broken world. Evangelism is the task of using words and actions to explain the Gospel and encourage decisions of faith.
Church planting strategies help organize followers of Jesus into local congregations where they will be nurtured and encouraged to grow in their faith and commitment to the values of God’s kingdom.
The nature of evangelism and church planting varies according to the social and political context in which each local church operates. Opportunities for public witness are often restricted where Christians represent a persecuted minority. Pervasive secularism creates a suspicious climate to the claims of faith in many places. The presentation of the Gospel in places of civil conflict may include the call to repentance and to a personal commitment to follow Jesus in loving one’s enemies. CBM Field Staff and partners are motivated by the passion to share the message of the crucified and risen Lord for the healing of a broken and wounded world.
